Garbage goals still win hockey games

WOW!  That's bad.  Really bad. But, it is so good that its getting big hits on youtube.com (Edited: 177,000 as of Feb. 17).

It even made it to the Tonight Show with Jay Leno where it was soundly panned.

This is advertising's equivalent to getting a garbage goal to win it in overtime.

That, is an advertising jackpot.

The end of the internet is near

We finally found the end of the internet and it features a "tribute" to Sidney Crosby's ankle injury.  Pathetic, but really funny.

Another giveaway gone weird for the Penguins' promotions department. First, the Mark Recchi bobblehead night AFTER he left the team (scroll down), and now, Evgeni Malkin scores a hat trick on..... Seven Springs Penguins Ski Cap night!

Some of the hats will be donated to a local mission, while most of the hats will find their way onto eBay.

Great game from Malkin, who has had two hat tricks in the last six games, but he was snubbed twice this week in All-Star selections. Boston's Marc Savard was named to replace injured starter Dany Heatley from Ottawa.

With 52 points and at 13th in the scoring race, Malkin is the highest scoring (23G -29A) player in the NHL not invited to the mid-season showcase.

That's disgraceful. Think the general public wants to see Savard or Malkin? The NHL is missing some major marketing by not having this guy in Atlanta on January 27th. Malkin's bobblehead night is coming February 7th...what could go wrong?

Rextra tickets, Shaggy

Atlanta's Mark Recchi has requested extra tickets for Saturday night's game against the Pens. He's hoping to show his former team what they've been missing. He's played 13 games in Atlanta and nearly tripled his point production. In 19 games in Pittsburgh, Recchi had two goals and six assists. He's played 13 games in Atlanta – scoring seven goals and seven assists. Decent production, but no denying the play of Tyler Kennedy (8G, 4A) has been more of a bargain for the 'Guins. Kennedy, who has facial hair like Shaggy, has played four fewer games and has been averaging two fewer minutes of ice time (none on the powerplay) than Recchi.
By the way, four of Kennedy's goals were game-winners.
